EverQuest II Enters a Kingdom of Sky

What -- you were thinking of logging off and having a "life" in the "real world"? Forget about it. Along with revealing another expansion to the original EverQuest, Sony Online Entertainment today announced EverQuest II Kingdom of Sky, the second addition to the MMORPG sequel.

Marked by a new realm of floating islands and the threatening dragons which dwell there, Kingdom of Sky will offer increased level caps (up to level 70 for adventurers and artisans), a new Achievement system, four new arena champions and two new arenas, and new Heritage and Signature Quests. Of course, no expansion would show its face without new monsters and areas to explore; Kingdom of Sky includes new zones and more than 25 new enemies to fight, along with new armor and items.

"Kingdom of Sky offers something for all of our EverQuest II players," said SOE's Laura Naviaux. "For the seasoned EQII player, Kingdom of Sky increases the amount of high level content in a world filled with intrigue and the potential destruction of Norrath by the evil dragon lords. The second expansion pack brings the excitement of dragon battles and is timed to coincide with the newly-added Player vs. Player (PvP) action."

Sony will release the new expansion on February 21 in both retail and digital versions. The retail edition will include a full version of the main EverQuest II game, as well as a special in-game item.
